Rydev representing R&D at OCDE session

The Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Commerce, in partnership with the OECD, has been executing a strategic roadmap to accelerate the development of the national semiconductor industrial ecosystem. A significant milestone in this collaboration is the latest OECD report, which highlights the local landscape; notably, Rydev and Capris are the only two Costa Rican companies specifically mentioned in the document.

On April 21st, Rydev’s CEO, Alfonso Chacón, participated in the 10th meeting of the Semiconductor Exchange Network (SIEN) held in Costa Rica. During the summit, Rydev served as a leading advocate for the expansion of R&D services, positioning Costa Rica as a strategic partner for high-added-value stages, including formal verification, functional verification, and IP design.

As part of this strategic outreach, Rydev engaged in high-level discussions with key U.S. officials, including Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Ana Quintana-Lovett, and representatives from Western Hemisphere Affairs. These meetings underscore the international recognition of Costa Rican expertise in the semiconductor sector.

Rydev’s current operations—partnering with major infrastructure developers to sustain global Cloud and AI operations—serve as a prime example of how investing in early design stages and strategically positioning Costa Rican talent can exponentially grow the country’s high-technology ecosystem.
